Author: In most of the cases people don’t find it easy to deal with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STD testing itself is found to be a difficult procedure to face for many. Even talking about these diseases is uncomfortable for people. There are complications for told or untold reasons.
But it being uncomfortable doesn’t mean it should be neglected. STDs if undetected or untreated may lead to dire consequences. So it is very-very important to undergo the testing if for any reason you suspect you need it.
When does one need STD testing?
Millions of people are at any time affected with the STDs no matter many of them don’t know that they are affected. STD Testing tells you if you are affected with any one of the sexually transmitted diseases, so that you may promptly go for the required treatment if needed.
One point is that there is no harm having STD testing. Rather everyone would have undergone the testing, had there been ideal conditions providing wholesome medical care to everybody. For the present one should go for STD testing if:
1. One has had multiple sexual partners
2. One has had sexual activity with strange fellow(s)
3. One has been ill for a long time with no apparent reason traced
4. One is a pregnant lady
5. A man has been engaged in sex with other man/men.
What if you ignore the need?
As stated above, you might be affected irrespective of your realization about it. If you are affected the avoiding may lead to greater risks. These diseases in their later stages affect whole of your body in general. You undoubtedly spread the disease to your sexual partner.
Are the tests painful? Is the procedure uncomfortable?
So far as the queries from the doctors are concerned, they seem uncomfortable only as long as we think of them, but when a skilled medico deals with such delicate issues it is in no way an uncomfortable process. The careful questioning is part of skill of such medical professional. Moreover it is your duty to be open to the doctor for your health’s sake. There are no physical pains involved in STD Test.
