Though I have great health care insurance through my husband’s employer, we are having a hard time finding some for our daughter. Because she is not legally our daughter yet, she’s not allowed to be on our insurance policy. We are planning to adopt her in the near future, but until then, all of her medical expenses must come out of my pocket. I just heard a wonderful idea from our current president about how to help defer some of the cost of health care Insurance. I hope this initiative makes it through it becomes law, however I am weary as I am sure there are some hidden drawbacks involved.
This initiative about health care insurance offers a tax deduction for those who have pay for their own health insurance, or for those who have to contribute to what their employer pays. There will be a standard deduction for single or family when it comes time to file your taxes. If this initiative were law this year, I would be getting a refund on my taxes instead of having to pay in. However, even if it’s not available yet, I hope I have it to look forward to the next year. Every little bit helps of course.
It is getting more and more expensive to have health care insurance for your family. The insurance we get to my husband’s employer used to be completely free. Now there’s a small amount taken out of each of his paychecks in order to pay the difference. Over the course of a year this really adds up. This is becoming more and more common around the country. Even though most of the costs of our health care insurance are provided by our employer, it has become so expensive that they can no longer shoulder the costs all on their own. I am grateful that we have it, and I am grateful that what we must pay is a relatively small amount. I realize that there are many others who do not have this luxury.
Many states have programs for health care insurance if you cannot afford on your own. You may not be able to get health care insurance for your entire family this way, but at the very least, you may be able to get sure children covered. This is perhaps the most important issue when it comes to health care insurance, and if this type of program is available in your state you should take advantage of it. Though we all hope that our children will remain healthy, it is always good to be prepared in case the worst might happen. The cost of one serious illnesses enough to break the average American family.
A lot of people feel that health care Insurance is a waste of money. They may believe that their medical bills will continually be low or non-existent. They might believe that their car Cover can pay for their medical expenses or that they can get treatment even if they don’t own Assurance.
Your health history is a good predictor of whether or not you might have health problems in the near future. When you’ve always been healthy, you’ve got a better chance of not needing health care in the next year when compared to someone who has a history of being sick all the time.
However, some people who have diabetes, high blood pressure or even heart attacks had unblemished medical histories for decades. Then they got ill and maybe stayed ill or even died.
Your good healthcare history isn’t a very good predictor of future injury. One can fall over a child’s toy and fall down a flight of stairs or have an accident when exercising.
Can Your Car Cover Policy Pay Your medical care costs?
Your auto Assurance plan offers limited Assurance for your medical bills. Your auto Insurance policy may pay for the healthcare expenses of those you may injure in a car crash. However, since you can’t hold yourself legally liable for your own health expenses, this Coverage is incomplete when it comes to your health care bills. Even insurance policies with “no fault” Cover typically limit this Insurance to a few thousand dollars per car accident.
Can Your Job’s Cover Cover You?
if you are hurt on the job, there is a good chance that your employer’s workmen’s compensation or liability Insurance will pay your health care costs. But it is the rare disease or sicknesses that will be covered by an job’s liability policy.
Of course when your employer provides healthcare Insurance for you, many more situations are likely to be covered.
Will A Hospital Treat You Even when You own No Insurance?
In many situations you can get treatment from a hospital whether or not you own health care Assurance. There are big drawbacks. One is the limitation on the medical care and another is the potential destruction of your credit.
Most hospitals will treat uninsured patients who walk through their doors in the aftermath of heart attack. Most hospitals will treat those who are in need of immediate health care in emergency situations. However, once the crisis is over, they are likely to stop care given unless you can pay for it.
If a hospital does treat you when you don’t have health care Coverage the care given isn’t likely to be free. They will send you a billand when you can’t pay the bill, the event and its cost may hang over your head like a dark cloud for years and years.
Can The Government Pay Your healthcare bills?
In some cases Social Security or Medicaid will cover your health expenses. However few people qualify. Only particular conditions qualify for payments from Social Security. Medicaid only covers those who own very low assets and income.
An auto Insurance plan or some other liability policy or a government program may pay for your health care costs in some scenarios. However, only a comprehensive health care insurance policy will give your family the peace of mind of knowing that a disease or crash won’t destroy your credit and financial future.
Are you familiar with supplemental health care insurance? Many people are not; these days, most people sign up with their employer-sponsored health care insurance plans, or purchase individual health care insurance plans if their employers do not provide health benefits. While these methods work for many individuals, seniors should consider purchasing affordable supplemental health care insurance.
Below are some of the most frequently asked questions about supplemental health care insurance for seniors.
What is supplemental health care insurance?
Simply put, supplemental health care insurance kicks in and pays for what your regular health insurance policy does not.
Why should seniors consider purchasing supplemental health care insurance?
Seniors don’t always have the steady income that younger individuals have. If a senior’s regular health insurance plan doesn’t cover a significant portion of health care services, it may be difficult for the senior to pay for the gap between what is covered and what is not. Some seniors have a nest egg set aside to handle situations such as these; some even have separate insurance policies they can fall back on, such as life insurance policies. However, not all seniors have the extra money set aside to cover the gap in health care insurance; an affordable, supplemental health care insurance would work for them.
What does supplemental health care insurance provide?
The kind of coverage available with an insurance plan always depends on the insurance company from which you purchase the plan. Many supplemental health care insurance plans offer cash benefits and compensation for lost income. Some supplemental health care insurance plans even cover pre-existing conditions; pre-existing conditions are prevalent among seniors.
Do I need supplemental health care insurance if I already have Medicare?
Yes, having an affordable supplemental health care insurance plan is especially wise for seniors with Medicare, as Medicare doesn’t often cover long-term health care, care provided at home or in a nursing home, or the costs of prescription medication.
